Do you have Vandas or neofinetias, Fuuran or Wind Orchids, Bonsai or Minis? Call them whatever you like, orchids thrive with praise.
Vandas are a sensitive species of air plant, known to thrive with soft, happy vibrations in their airspace, like early Mozart.
I'm Kate, a potter in the wilds of the Pacific Northwest who makes orchid 'homes' for orchids and their beautiful owners!
I've been making these three-legged, fuuran orchid pots for a few years by request. Now, we stock the 5" (with holes) on our website: spiritlinepottery.com
The classic three-leg design allows more humid airflow, and present the vandas or neofinetia with a nod to the traditional way of viewing. I interpret this "viewing" as: internalizing, enjoying, or a 'meditation'.
Millions of orchid growers worldwide keep furran pots as tiny shrines to honor and meditate on nature. Instead of supporting an image of Buddha or Kuan-Yin, their Fuuran pots support wild-looking, soulful orchids.
All bonsai represent the living mystery of wild creation.
Many more orchid growers just live in the now, and see their orchids as amazing plants in our useful pottery.
I see both concepts co-existing in our designs. The pot's natural form and humidifying function begin from the moment I open my pottery studio and get to work.
I'm happiest when not conforming to a rigid design esthetic. This freedom allows my mind to relax and be creative, rather than critical.
Our pottery looks like what we show online. All are similar in height, width and decoration, while each piece is unique as wild orchids themselves!
These pots were from the same series. Marbled stoneware is available by request in any orchid pot style.
